Job description
We are looking for a part-time Client Intake and Conflicts Analyst to manage the new client and matter intake process, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and firm policies. This role is essential in identifying and resolving conflicts of interest and supporting attorneys in making informed business intake decisions. The ideal candidate will work closely with attorneys, administrative staff, and firm leadership to streamline workflows and maintain accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the new business intake process, ensuring the accurate and timely collection of client and matter details.
• Conduct conflicts of interest research using internal databases and external resources to assess potential risks.
• Work closely with attorneys and legal administrative staff to analyze conflicts reports and facilitate necessary resolutions.
• Maintain and update conflicts records, waivers, and intake documentation, ensuring compliance with firm policies.
• Perform corporate research to identify relationships between affiliated companies and potential conflicts.
• Provide guidance and training to attorneys and staff on conflicts management and new business intake procedures.
• Assist in developing best practices and policies to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the intake and conflicts clearance process.
• Prepare and distribute conflict reports for firm leadership and practice group chairs, offering insight and recommendations.
• Ensure that all new matters are properly classified with respect to practice areas and type of law.
Job requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 4-6 years of experience in conflicts analysis, compliance, legal operations, or business intake within a law firm.
• Strong understanding of legal ethics, conflicts rules, and professional responsibility standards.
• Experience with Elite 3E or similar law firm financial and conflicts software preferred.
• Ability to analyze complex conflicts issues, work under deadlines, and provide practical resolutions.
• Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
• Experience in training attorneys and staff on conflicts and intake procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
